The northern, Chaldean stream is directed outwards. The Chaldeans oriented themselves according to the stars and the precise astrological records of the Chaldeans were even used by Copernicus. The southern, Egyptian stream is directed inwards, a soul-spiritual path of initiation.

The mythical founder of Egyptian culture was Hermes (the Greeks gave him the name Hermes and thus associated him with the messenger of the gods), who saw the connection between inside and outside. He was also called Hermes Trismegistos, the thrice great, the thrice learned. He was one of Zarathustra's disciples and the "Hermetic Doctrine", a secret doctrine (hermetically sealed), goes back to him.

The second disciple of Zarathustra was Moseswho was initiated into the Egyptian mysteries. He grew up together with Pharaoh and later realised that he was descended from the Israelite people. He went with his people to the Promised Land.

Zarathustra gave his two disciples different qualities of his powers. Hermes was given powers from Zarathustra's astral body, Moses the powers of the etheric body. Hermes was particularly good at dealing with the soul forces, i.e. thinking, feeling, willing under the rule of the ego. He was also able to see the connection between the physiological and spiritual inner life of the human being and the cosmic star world. The great saying: "As above, so below" comes from this and means that in the macrocosm it is the same as in the microcosm. - Moses received the powers of the etheric body from Zarathustra. The etheric has to do with development, a metamorphosis in time. People who can see in etheric powers can move freely in time. They can look into the past and also see what is coming in the future. Moses could do that and so he created Genesis, the story of creation in tremendous images.

A central myth in Egypt is the Osiris Myth. Osiris descended from the Ra (Re) line. His father was the earth god Geb and his mother Nut (the heavenly one). Geb and Nut had 4 children: Osiris, Isis, Nephtys, Seth (Typhon).

Osiris and Isis loved each other in the womb and became a couple. They ruled over the earth world. Seth=Typhon was jealous of Osiris. His wife Nephtys had a love-night with Osisris, in which they begat Anubis. To get rid of Osiris, Seth had a magnificent sarcophagus made into which Osiris climbed. 72 helpers sealed the coffin and pushed it into the Nile and it floated all the way into the sea. Isis went in search of the body of Osiris. The sarcophagus got caught in the roots of an acacia tree and Isis found it. Typhon then steals it and cuts the body into 14 pieces and scatters them all over the land. Isis finds the parts and with the help of Anubis she "heals" the dead man. Anubis embalms Osiris and Osiris is revived. When Isis and Osiris are united, Horus is born. Horus is raised in secret and later defeats Typhon in battle.

This is not an external event, but a mythological image. The coffin is the image for the physical body (at birth we slip into the coffin and begin to breathe: Typhon stands for this. Osiris is the image for the human soul with ego power. With the death of Osiris, the realm of the dead came into being and he is the ruler of it. The fragmentation refers to our fragmentation into 12 senses at birth and we also fragment the world into individual concepts. The 72 helpers stand for the cosmic measure that is allotted to man. Everything that goes beyond 72 is a gift and connected with the task of making something out of it.

Starting from the Platonic world year, which lasts 25 920 years, one can calculate this human measure: One twelfth of the world year gives 2160 years, which is the duration of a cultural epoch. 1 day in the world year gives 72 years ( 25920:360=72) and that is one world day.

From fellow listener B. We are in the 5th cultural epoch, in the first third of it, we still have echoes of the 4th epoch, the Greek-Roman epoch, where philosophy was born, where the domination of the world by the Romans came, somewhat warlike though it was. The first two epochs were the Ur-Indian and then the Ur-Persian. We have already discussed these. Last time we started with the Egyptian-Chaldean epoch, but we didn't get to the core of it because it is a huge subject. Steiner rightly calls this epoch by a double name because there are two very different currents that contribute to this epoch. When the ice-age floods occurred and the migratory movements went eastward, there was a) a northern stream from which the Persian and Chaldean elements have developed, b) a southern stream that went to Egypt. The two streams have very different tasks: the northern stream, the Chaldean side, which is connected with the Babylonians, takes place in Mesopotamia between the Euphrates and the Tigris. These people turn their consciousness more outwards into the world of the stars, as astrologers, they see both the outer world, that is, the stars, but they also see with clairvoyance what spiritual beings are behind them. At least they still have an inkling of this. This is what makes up the astrology of the Chaldeans, which was very famous, with precise records with sounding instruments. They drew up star catalogues that were later used by the Greeks and also by Copernicus at the dawn of modern times. The southern stream, the Egyptians, they turned more to the inner world, they saw the starry world in relation to the inner life of the human being, what one experiences in the inner soul-spirit. The Chaldeans' path of initiation goes outwards, to see the spiritual in nature, in the stars; the Egyptians' path goes inwards with the connection of the stars, but with the structure of the organism, with what the heart is connected (solar forces), the liver, the lungs (Mercurial forces), gall bladder (Martian forces) etc. It is about the macrocosm. It is a question of looking at the macrocosm and the microcosm together, both currents do this, the Chaldeans look for it outside and then see how it is connected with the inside, the Egyptians primarily look inside and see how it is connected with the outside.

Founders of Egyptian culture: HermesThe mythical king Menes, later called Hermes trismegistos, the threefold scholar, he was a disciple of the Persian initiate Zarathustra (second cultural epoch), one of Zarathustra's disciples was Hermes, very strong in seeing the inner self of the human being in the context of the stars and the cosmos (microcosm and macrocosm). Emerald Tablet: there are the principles of the hermetic teachings, secret teachings, if hermetically sealed, then we say "hermetically" sealed, it was actually a secret teaching (mysteries) at that time, only limited to a small circle of people and had to do with the inner being - a mystical path, deepening into one's own inner being). Another disciple was Moseswho then leads the Israelites out of Egypt into the Promised Land. Moses was also an initiate into the Egyptian mysteries. Moses was abandoned as a boy in a reed basket, floated on the Nile, he was washed up at the palace of the king (Pharaoh), the sister or mother of the Pharaoh took care of the child, he grew up together with the future Pharaoh, they were treated equally, equal education, until later the big break came when Moses realised that his Israelite people had to perform slave services. That is why he went with his people to the Promised Land. Both disciples of Zarathustra received very different qualities of the teachings, Zarathustra passed on very different powers to his two disciples, those who are familiar with Anthroposophy know that we have a physical body and an etheric body (life forces), without these life forces we would have a corpse in front of us, with these life forces or with a small part of them, we think, with the same powers that regenerate us in the night, we think that has consequences. However, if we were only alive, then we would be more than a corpse, also more than a mineral, which is also "dead" in a certain sense, but with physis and life force we would only be in the status of a plant. Plant is alive, it is more than a mineral, but a plant has no waking consciousness. It has a consciousness like when we sleep, in a deep sleep where we don't dream, don't know anything about us, when normally darkness is for us in the night. Darkness at night is an important interruption to develop our I-consciousness, in truth we don't know very much about our real I, we only know that we have it. It is like the black hole in the wall, we only see it because it disturbs the white surface, what the I is, we do not know. Our true I, that is not accessible to us in daytime consciousness. We experience this black hole every night, we sleep through it, but for the daytime consciousness it is important, there is something black, something dark at night that we cannot fathom, during the day it is in the subconscious, but that is exactly what makes us feel like an I, a conscious individual human being, otherwise our consciousness during the day is filled with sensual experiences or with the thoughts of the mind. Feelings, emotions also emerge, from a depth unknown to us. But if it weren't for the black hole at night, we wouldn't have our I-consciousness that we have today in everyday life.

Animals don't have the black hole, even when they are asleep there is a certain dream-like consciousness, very dull, at night more focused on the inner world, but with animals it is never completely dark, sometimes more on the outside during the day and more on the inside at night. That is the rhythm of the life of sensation. Steiner calls consciousness the astral body. What we experience is very much connected with the astral body. If we did not have the astral body, we would not be conscious. Zarathustra did not only give his disciples a teaching, but Zarathustra gave the Hermes the powers of his astral body He was already such a high initiate in pre-Christian times, yet he had to die so that after his death the astral body of Zarathustra remained for Hermes. This is not the case today with the average human being, a large part of the astral body dissolves because he is not yet purified enough and thus not yet ready to ascend to higher spiritual regions. With an initiate like Zarathustra, however, this is very much the case. Therefore, this astral body can remain. Zarathustra does not need it, because when he descends to a new incarnation, he is ready to create an astral body out of nothing (R. Steiner calls it the spirit self), so he could give up the astral body and make it available to others. The rest of us, who are not yet so far advanced, have to be content with the astral body we find on the way to our incarnation or gather it from the astral world, the soul forces. Sometimes they fit better, sometimes worse, today often rather worse, because the astral world in the earthly realm is burdened by the traces of the misdeeds we have done, which spoils the astral. This is how Zarathustra made his astral body available to Hermes.

Hermes could therefore deal very well with the soul forces that work in us, because the astral body is the basis for our soul forces. Thinking, feeling, willing all take place in the astral body, under the rule of the I, but the carrier is the astral body. Star body. Hermes saw how the physiological inner life and the soul life are connected with the star world, the cosmic world. Hence the saying: "As above, so below". What is happening above in the stars is also happening below with us in the microcosm. There are soul-spiritual forces in the cosmos and there are also these forces within me that determine what our physiology looks like. It is not by chance that a physical body emerged from the primordial mud, which can then also sweat out emotions and thoughts, but in truth: spirit weaves itself into the soul (astral), seizes the life forces (etheric forces) and these form the physical. That was the great teaching that Hermes could give. This is the basis of Egyptian culture. The Chaldeans look upwards and then infer what is inside, but Hermes looks inside and then says, what is it like up there?

Moses received the etheric body from ZarathustraThe etheric body of Zarathustra was also of such high quality that it was preserved after his death and could be passed on. Moses did not have to laboriously gather an etheric body from the etheric world, but received a high-quality etheric body from Zarathustra. Interesting: the astral is connected with the star world, the cosmic-spatial, what we see externally as the universe, the etheric has to do with development, with something that takes place in time, a transformation, a metamorphosis in time. When one becomes conscious in the etheric, when one can experience that, then one can move freely in time, one can see earlier states of development and can see the future, it is not that the future is predetermined, more and more possibilities come to us from the future than are then concretely realised, one can see these possibilities and one can see what has happened in the past. Moses could see well in the etheric forces. From this Moses was able to describe his doctrine of development, the Genesis, the 5 books of Moses, in the first book: the creation of the world. He can look back with clairvoyance and put the experience and that into powerful images. Images that are poured into language, Hebrew language, Hebrew original text, there one senses that in this Hebrew language there is an enormous imaginative image behind every single word. A picture language. He knew that the time has passed when the majority of people can see this clairvoyantly, therefore a living language, imagination = soul-spiritual experience, which is different from our sensual experience, but our modern languages have no expressions for this experience, we lack the words for it. In Hebrew there is still a strong echo. "Bereshit....". "In the beginning....", in diesem ersten Wort steckt bildhaft die ganze Schöpfungsgeschichte.

The task of the Israelite people in the larger sense, and of the Jewish people in the narrower sense, is to build up a people's I, to anchor the I in the people, not so much the individual I is the important thing, but the people takes on a concrete I, a great I, in this I lives the power of YAHWE or of the Christ. The pre-Christian people of the Christ, the people's spirit that works in the Hebrew people is the archangel Michael, the archangel Michael also works, he also works very strongly in our time, he is closely connected with the Christ, Michael has a spiritual fighting element in him, in the Apocalypse of John in the first seal image, the Lord, the Christ, is shown as a figure where a fiery sword comes out of his mouth, That is the spiritual power of the word, Moses also grasped something of this spiritual power, that's why he was able to put such strong clairvoyant images into the words of Genesis, which he could still experience, he had the consciousness I'm passing this on to my people, they won't see these images any more, but they are inside the words, subconsciously they experience it anyway, something resonates which they can't grasp consciously, but the right images are there in the underground. Therefore, it is practically impossible to translate the original text of the Bible into another language, it is then other sounds and the images are erased when it then says: "In the beginning the Elohim created the heavens and the earth".then it is correct in meaning, but the images are gone. What is striking is that if you compare the biblical creation story with other creation stories, the biblical creation story is quite short and abstract. A short chapter. In the first book of Moses, in chapter 1, there is the creation story. The creation of the whole world. It's short, but it's in the words, you have to enlarge each word to a panorama, then you can walk in the footsteps of Moses. A tremendous spiritual power lies in the few Hebrew words. He was able to do this more than the Pharaoh with whom he grew up, what Moses had went a step beyond Egyptian initiation. It is rooted in the Egyptian, but leads beyond it.

A central myth in Egyptian culture is the Osiris myth: Osiris descends from the sun god RA, there's the "r" in it again = these are strong astral forces, in the best sense, astral forces are something high, something cosmic, only when they are corrupted can they be something very low. Osiris is descended from this line, but not directly the son of RA but more a grandson. Osiris was the son of Geb (earth god, male) and Nut (the celestial, female), often depicted as a human figure, with a human head, Egyptian depictions of gods often in human form but with animal heads, is supposed to express that they lifted very specific astral animal powers up into the human, into consciousness, Ibi head or head of a jackal, only a few gods were depicted with a human face, Osiris was one of them, but also his celestial mother Nut, depicted in a backwards bent posture, this bow, that is the sky, the starry sky, the whole Nut is the starry sky, supported by the earth, by Geb. For the Egyptians, the earth was a disc over which the sky arches, so above it is the sky and below it is the realm of the dead, the underworld, the dead person has to go through it, two realms, an upper realm and a lower realm. The further we get into the Egyptian period and the Greek-Latin period towards the turn of time, the more the lower realm comes to the fore, what we also call hell. With the Indians, death was an ascent upwards into the spiritual realm, into a beautiful spiritual world and then into a spiritual world. There was no underworld then. For the Iranians at that time, the whole earth was a dark world and what was underneath was even darker, they see that you have to deal with that. The Egyptians felt very clearly that there was a light kingdom above ground and a dark kingdom below, and the dead had to pass through it, and they had to see how they could bring the dead back up so that they could pass through the kingdom of the dead and go back into the light and then be reborn on earth from the light kingdom. There was the idea of rebirth among the Egyptians. So Geb and Nut are the parents of the Osiris and its Sister Isis, and his Brother's Sethand the twin sister of Isis, the NephtisSo there are 4 of them, they belong together, they all come into being in the one womb. Geb and Nut have four children: Osiris, Isis, Seth and Nephtis, who play an essential role in the Osoris myth; the legend tells: Osiris and Isis loved each other already in the womb, so that they later became a couple, this is typical for Egyptian times, among the ruling families in Egypt, sibling marriage was preferred, thus the best dispositions were selected, this obviously worked at that time, later, incest was rightly frowned upon because it leads to a deterioration of the genetic make-up, but pharaohs very often married their sisters and thus strengthened their dynasty, later this became problematic, especially in the Greco-Roman era, there was nothing to be gained in this way. Later, the Roman emperors often had a relationship with siblings, but nothing good came of it. That was the end of the time.

Isis and Osiris ruled as a couple over the earth world, the brother Seth = in Greek mythology he is called Typhon (strong breath of air) = typhoon (whirlwind), Typhon was jealous that Osiris was the ruler over the earth world and not him, he pondered how he could get rid of him, that is one thing. Typhon's wife was Nephtis, the twin sister of Isis. But Nephtis also liked Osiris, and because she looked like Isis, she actually managed to spend a night of love with Osiris. You must not imagine this externally, but it is a mythological image of these powers combining. From this union Anubis is born, he accompanies the dead through the underworld, plays a major role in the embalming of the dead. Typhon is jealous and wants to get rid of Osiris, but he does not want to simply slay him. In order for him to be recognised as the legitimate ruler, he comes up with something. He has a magnificent sarcophagus made exactly to the measurements of his twin brother Osiris. At a festival he jokingly says, "I'll give this sarcophagus to whoever fits in it exactly. Osiris is the last to try it, and for him it fits exactly. Immediately the lid is put on and the 72 assistants of Seth/Typhon seal the coffin, it is filled with lead, the coffin is then pushed into the Nile by 72 assistants and floats away, floats out to sea, is lost. Osiris is killed, it is a mythological image, a spiritually seen image. What does it stand for?

What is the coffin? What is the coffin that we are put into and that 72 assistants help to put us into. Coffin is an image for the physical body of the human being, we occupy the coffin, the body at birth, immediately after birth we begin to breathe. Breath, breath of wind, typhoon, typhoon, Seth, the brother of Osiris, the breath that is sucked in, that is what makes us mortal, behind the typhoon is the breath. Counter-image to this: Moses: creation story, Genesis 2nd chap. There is a creation story in the 1st chapter, there everything is ready, man was there. "The Elohim created the heavens and the earth".El = Hebrew God, him = plural. So there are several. In the 2nd chapter suddenly: "The earth was desolate and empty"It starts all over again, with Yahweh-Elohim, that is one of these 7 Elohim, a very special one, who now creates man from an earthen lump, from the soil, Ha adama, the EARTH, earth material, earth sphere, from the materials of the earth sphere someone is created, Adam, but he was not yet a living being. The body was, so to speak, predisposed with it. Yahweh breathed into him the living breath. With that he began to live. Chapter 3: The Fall, the serpent, the breathing processes become problematic and lead to the death process, from the first breath we begin to die, at some point the typhoon, the deadly breath takes over, then it is over with our life on earth. That is what is behind the image of the killing of Osiris. Osiris is an image for the human soul, in which the I-power is inside, but which no longer floats in spiritual heights, but descends to earth, therefore becomes ruler over the earth, together with his wife Isis, Osiris stands more for the I-power, Isis more for the soul. Both together animate and spiritualise the physical body. Typhon ensures that Osiris dies. Osiris enters the realm of the dead. According to Egyptian mythology, it is through the killing of Osiris that the realm of the dead comes into being. He receives the dead. The dead is tested by Osiris and then becomes an Osiris himself, he himself participates in this I-power, in Egyptian times the I was still hovering over the head of the human being, the I was not yet inside the human body, only united with it after death. This was only possible with the appropriate preparation on earth. He is received by the Osiris-power, the I-power, Osiris is the sun-power, the power of the RA, which descends to earth through his heavenly mother Nut, Osiris is finally on earth the earthly representative of the sun-god, i.e. the I-power, which is first on the sun, this I-power has descended to earth for Osiris, but at first not yet accessible to everyone, at first only he as Osiris, this lies within mythology and points to something which R. Steiner expresses very clearly: "The I is not yet inside the human body. Steiner says very clearly: the I-power is connected with the Christ, through Christ the 7 Elohim can create creation, only through this community, but this Christ descends to earth step by step, in the Urpersian time Zarathustra still sees him as a great solar aura, there he is still connected with the sun, Ahura Mazdao, "the mighty aura" (sun god) and the antipole, the dark force, the sinister Ahriman (like the Seth of the Egyptians) from the same source, from the never-ending time, "Zerane akanene", the zodiac, the eternally circling time, from the source are born the Ahura Mazdao und der Ahriman, engl.: angry man, der zornige Mann.

"In the days of Antipas, who was killed in the place of satanic power, there are those who hold to the doctrine of the Nicolaitans".. Hidden "Manna" = Manas = transformed astral body, which has become the spirit self, spirit self is the power to produce an astral body out of nothing and with the white stone the I is meant, because only everyone can say I to himself, and only everyone knows the I for himself.

By Dr. Wolfgang Peter Here you will find useful summaries, transcripts, keywords, etc. If you would like to help to make this documentation even richer, please contact info@anthro.world.
