There is a luminous power inside our I and the Christ-power works inside if we want it. With this there are no obstacles that should frighten us, it will sometimes be difficult, that is the way it is in human life, but we always have the power to take a step forward. That is strongly the Michael message too, that is the message of the Apocalypse, the message of the Divine Comedy, which we talked about last time and will tie into today. This power of the I is something incredible.

Saying of the Christ in the church of Thyatira, which corresponds to the Greco-Latin period into which the Christ was born: "The same authority of the I, shall be his own, which I have received of my Father." It should be, because it is not yet a reality to the fullest extent, because we are involved in proving ourselves worthy of this power by really making it our own. That is our spiritual striving, our spiritual doing. This is how we awaken this power. This is the power that the adversaries are all together no match for. That gives us not only the strength to keep them in check, but to redeem them, even if that is in the distant perspective, or to cooperate in their redemption. For they have been appointed to this activity as adversaries. It is a sacrifice they have taken upon themselves. They were predestined to take on this role so that man can act out of freedom. To be able to develop this freedom that only man has, as a spiritual being. The angelic hierarchies do not have this freedom, which man can dispose of if he wants to. This free spirituality is what the struggle of all humanity is about. It determines our entire human history. Especially now during the evolution of the earth, because that is when our I was first given to us, as a spark, but which we must kindle ourselves. An offering of the Elohim, the creative spirits, the high sun beings, who sacrificed their I-power as a great spark, from which all the sparks of each individual I arose.

From the one original I, the Adam I, it begins to differentiate more and more, more and more lights ignite, they ignite through our activity, then it is kindled into flame, in it is potentially the "equal authority of the I"which the Christ received from his Father. This power of freedom to be creatively active out of nothing. The primary creative activity that the I has at its disposal, otherwise it would not be an I, is to be able to create itself anew at every moment. This is the image of the phoenix, which rises again and again from its own ashes; this happens to us continuously. Or it is the Oruborus serpent that devours itself, through this devouring creates itself again, it nourishes itself from itself, and renews itself in the process. The I is always the absolutely new. "I make all things new," says the Christ. That is the big thing, in a small way it applies to our I. That also means having courage when changes are imminent, when we can no longer follow the usual paths, of course the past, tradition carries us, but the actual reality is what we create anew. That's where the spiritual works. From the past comes dead spirituality, which has become dross. Human existence is always about starting anew, about seeing the world again and again with new eyes, about fertilising it with new ideas, that is what makes a human being. Even if he stumbles again and again due to the influence of the adversaries, makes nonsense again and again, makes gross blunders, which today have the potential to lead humanity to the brink of extinction. To wander along this edge is our lot, our lot freely taken upon us. The adversaries have the task of tempting us to give up this freedom. Come to us in the safe harbour, they say, nothing can happen to you there. I give you the power to take up a certain position, to exercise a certain power, but we adversaries see to it that it goes without complaint.

You mustn't imagine the adversaries so simply, they are guys who are constantly tormenting us, the future looks more like that they will butter us up a lot, try to lure us with many things that seem pleasant. That is the greatest danger. If they fulfil our wishes, then the temptation is great to put freedom on the back burner for the time being. Freedom matures slowly within us. It doesn't mean I do what I want. It's whatever I want to do. But that's not where we are most free. It is our ego, our urges, our astral, our desires that guide us. But they make us completely unfree.

Freedom begins when we take our whole being into our own hands and become masters of our own house. There is only one power that we should gain, the power over ourselves. Not power over others. The spiritual will is most paralysed when we have power over other people. People who are appointed to exercise power over others must be aware that they are thereby diminishing spiritual power to the same extent. It was different in the past. The further you go back, worked through leaders, in times when people could not lead themselves out of their I, there were kings and the like who received inspiration, even more so a higher spiritual being incorporated itself in them, thereby they could lead humanity. Humanity that was not yet able to lead itself.

But that time has expired. It expired with the Mystery of Golgotha. That's when man was given this authority of the I, in the sense, do something with it, that's where it begins. The 2000 years that have passed since then are a short time. We are at the very beginning of Christianity. What we have experienced so far were sometimes very helpless attempts to bring it into the world. Also because the adversaries have pounced on it. They are not stupid. They know very well where to find a point of attack. Where it is particularly rewarding for them. It is particularly rewarding there when they get influence on people who are spiritually striving. These are the most popular victims. Someone who leads a spiritually distant life is not particularly interesting for the adversaries. They are interested in people who strive energetically for the spiritual, and if they succeed in seducing them and bringing them over to their side, then there is a chance that these people will really bring spiritual forces into their adversary realms, forces which they cannot access themselves, but which they can access through people.

That is the problem that leads to black magic. Black magic means using spiritual forces for self-interest, for egoistic reasons, or for the ego of the group with which I feel connected, in which I am perhaps the leading personality, so that this spiritual force is led into the realm of the adversaries. What is given to us by the adversaries in return is that we can then occupy a thoroughly powerful position in the realm of the adversaries. That may be enough for many. Many only realise late on which path they are on. The adversaries weigh the time very well, at a time when people have already gone far down this path and it costs a lot of strength to turn back. People will then say, well, then I'll go on this way. But this is a path that leads to renouncing one's own free I-power, not the I-power as such, but the freedom of the I. In other words, to develop an I that is like the I of the world. So to develop an I, as it is allowed in the realm of the adversaries. They are entities that cannot allow freedom.

Cannot allow it. In the whole plan of creation it is a most daring experiment to create a spiritual being, to create the spiritual spark in a being and to give freedom to that being. This has never been done before, as far as we can survey. Not in the previous cosmic stages of development of our earth, which we can survey in outline. It did not exist there. There was a central divine source from which everything flows. With the Mystery of Golgotha, the revolution has begun. Now it is the individual I's from which everything flows. What does not flow from them is lost to creation. That is why we are already participating powerfully in creation. Creation has not come to an end.

We must not think that the Elohim created the heavens and the earth in the beginning, as it says in the Bible, and that everything is finished. This naïve idea has persisted for a long time. The good Lord created everything and that is how it has remained. No. The creation of the world goes on, it goes through the gate of the human ICHE. Higher beings help. For we are overtaxed to do even the smallest thing. The only thing we can do out of our freedom is to rework our soul. To recreate our soul. So that the damage that was created in our soul by the adversaries, because we followed them, let ourselves be seduced, that we really repair this damage by dissolving everything that was corrupted into nothingness. That is the ability that the I has, that has the same authority that I received from my Father. There is the ability in there to create out of nothingness, but also to return what has been created into nothingness. It is both source and sink. The development of the world always happens in such a way that a whole cosmos comes into being out of nothing, we have to call it nothing because it cannot be grasped in our terms, therefore we cannot say anything about the Godhead, one helps oneself with expressions such as omnipotence, omniscience, but this leads to the difficulty: what about the freedom of man? Does the dear God know everything that man will decide out of freedom in the future? No, he does not know!

It is connected with man's creation that he gives up his omnipotence, his omniscience, so great is the gift. When he set out on the way to Golgotha, he surrendered himself completely to powerlessness. Surrendered himself completely into the hands of men. He renounced calling the heavenly hosts to save him, to save him from this task, in the Garden of Gethsemane on Maundy Thursday, where it says, O Lord, let this cup pass me by, which is often interpreted as if he were asking the Father in heaven, let the situation pass me by, I am afraid of it. No, the only fear was that he would not be able to stand it, that his physicality would not be able to stand it, because when such a tremendous spiritual power, the creative power of the universe par excellence, embodies itself in a human body, it is inconceivable that such a thing is possible at all, because Christ was the active creator, the Father Godhead is in the background, Christ is the one who is active through and with the support of the Elohim in the creation of the earth, it is he. The Indians knew it, they called him Vishva Karman. The power that creates the whole universe as we now know it, this comprehensive cosmic life that reaches far beyond our earth, far beyond our planetary system, our galaxy, into vastness that we cannot yet survey even with our technology, this world-creating power places itself in the hands of man. It renounces all power. This renunciation of all power is at the same time a gaining of inner power over oneself to the highest degree. Even for the Christ Being, for the Trinity in general, this is a step towards giving up this omnipotence. To entrust this to spiritual beings, spiritual beings that are on the lowest level, that is us. To decide that I will continue to work through these beings. If these beings do not want to, out of our freedom, then those who stand above us and are much more powerful up to the Trinity, can do nothing. We have to want, if we want creation to continue. We can say end of the line, then it goes into the realm of the adversaries. This is one of the central points that the Apocalypse points out to us in a somewhat coded way: the Godhead has given up its omnipotence so that we can become free and freely participate in deciding what becomes of creation. We have it in our hands to prevent it, we are also the initiators of the direction in which it goes. It also shows the trust that is placed in us. An infinite trust. That we choose the right path out of our own I, out of freedom.

If that would not succeed, which will certainly not be the case, then creation could basically go completely wrong. Branching off in the direction of the adversaries, especially in the direction of the entity that stands behind Sorat, which has nothing in common with our earth, comes from a different direction of development and has decided against allowing freedom. A kind of radical rebellion against this divine principle, that of course raises many questions again: can this entity behind Sorat, can it rebel against God? We don't want to go into that now. The point that can be seen is that these entities that stand behind Sorat or behind the Sorat principle, that they have a completely different direction of development in mind. If we do not live up to the trust that our Godhead places in us, if we do not live up to this trust, then it would happen that we would go along with this other development, but this would mean that this whole creation, not only the earth creation, but also the stages that could still come, would not happen or would not happen in the right way. That is what we are supposed to do.

But that also tells us that we have the strength within us to overcome this. The time has become ripe with the Mystery of Golgotha. This is the point where we have been given this power, we only have to acquire it. We still have a lot of work to do, step by step. Again and again we have to make the impossible possible. A step beyond the limits of our abilities and possibilities. That is called development. To move within the given means to renounce development. I take what the gods have given me and work with it within a closed circle. But the Godhead trusts us to expand the circle. Step by step. However tiny the step. Even if there are three steps backwards. Then four steps forward again. It works.

We can absolutely stand up to the entities behind Sorat. We don't have to defeat them. But we can say, out of our Earth evolution, you go. We have until 666. That's where the final decision will be made. Even if a human being only manages at the last second to perform the act of real freedom, and to detach himself from the pull that emanates from the forces behind Sorat, he is going in the right direction. To be a free creative being and to constantly become new. It is open, not predetermined, how many people will go in one direction or the other. 144,000 as a number symbolising the essence of the chosen, a number that expresses the quality of these people. In the ideal case, all people go with them. In the worst case, they all go in the other direction. Therefore, be particularly vigilant against these forces that ultimately emanate from Sorat, that lead to black magic, that is, to steal spiritual forces from our spiritual world for egoistic reasons and to feed them to the realm of these entities behind Sorat. Above all, he wants to seduce the spiritually striving. Dante grasped this very clearly, and quite strongly castigated the fact that worldly power made use of spiritual power in order to carry through its earthly goals and strivings for power. He was also aware that this is only the outside, in truth it is about much more than earthly possessions, earthly kingdoms. What is dramatic is that this brought spiritual forces into the community of people united in the spirit of Christ, that is, the Church, that these spiritual forces that gathered there, and therefore also became an institution, that these forces were to a large extent directed in the direction of these adversary entities. Dante did not yet have a clear concept of which entities were working there, sometimes he calls them Satan, sometimes Lucifer. He still lacked a clear view, which we can only develop today.

This is not only in the Church, it is in all religious institutions, in some stronger, in some weaker, there are people to be found who are worthwhile for the adversaries. That is why the attack is there. This is not to say anything negative about the Church, it has had its task. But it has come into the realm of the adversary forces in addition to the good forces. The gateway is particularly strong where there is a community of spiritually striving people. Because wherever spiritually striving people form a community, it is an invitation for a higher being to come in. Connects with that community, a kind of group soul, a kind of group spirit, but it's not said that it's a positive force or it's only a positive force. As a rule it is the case that at least where a Christian spiritual entity from the hosts of the Christ connects, something from the Luciferic and from the Ahrimanic hosts also connects and forms a kind of shadow, which however accompanies the whole. The people of this community are under these influences within. Only we as individuals can balance. By how we deal with the people in this community. You can see the power struggles that take place in the institutions, that's where it starts, it's unavoidable, we humans are seducible, it's the privilege of humans to err, to make mistakes, to be able to act immorally. Freedom means being faced with the decision of which direction to take with every action, with every breath. Every moment of life we are challenged.

At first, we will only have a very tired reflection of our real I, of our spiritual core of being, in our everyday consciousness. Only when, due to many mistakes and much suffering, which we have burdened ourselves with, which has brought us to wake up, where we can then awaken to our real spiritual task, which our real I has undertaken. From this we can notice, uh, that's where it should actually go. Not where I want to go out of my ego. Becoming rich, being admired, all that is completely uninteresting for the real I. Great initiates, great guides today, because they show a way, give a signpost, often offer several ways one could go, but don't force anyone to go that way, just show, it's there. It is an invitation. A Christian initiate today would never force a person onto the right path. That is for the person to decide out of freedom. One can offer any kind of help. Point out problems where he should look more closely, but man must want it out of freedom. Help in any form, but we cannot take the actual decision from anyone.

In this sense, it is not a matter of listening to great insiders who will hopefully knock on our door and give me the right tip, that is how it happens in the rarest of cases, help can come in a completely different way. It often comes in the form of a fleeting encounter we have had with him without recognising him, maybe we didn't notice him at all, maybe it was just a glance that struck us. It awakened something in our soul. With people who are suitably prepared for this, this need not even be the case, but the spiritual connection is sufficient. With people who have been prepared for this in previous incarnations, it is easier for them to receive impulses from the spiritual world. It is most difficult with people who are completely caught up in materialism in their consciousness. Materialism as a state of mind. Who can no longer imagine anything else. They create a deep black blanket that covers the spiritual world and prevents impulses from coming in. Today the soul atmosphere of the whole earthly world has become such through man that a black blanket lies over the earth, where little can get through unless we light a little spiritual light down here. That drills holes in this blanket. Every spiritual impulse from us is an invitation to the spiritual world, it hears us, it reacts to us. It helps us. We can connect, this connection creates a passage through the black blanket that lies over the earth today. This should not frighten us. It indicates nothing other than that our spiritual power has already become so great that we can penetrate it. Development also means I want to make an effort. Nothing falls into our laps.

It is precisely our task to free our own soul from the negative forces, to really free it for good, so that the negative astral is flung into nothingness and something new, individual astral is created in its place. We can do it alone. We have to do it alone. The Christ doesn't help us there either, because he would intervene unlawfully in our concerns. He helps us where we are not yet so far along, with our life forces, our physique, where we are only at the very beginning. We need a lot of help, we need the grace that is given to us through the Christ and the spiritual world above us, but we must also see that we have a field where only we are called upon to do it, because only we can do it. Each ME for himself. The task of dealing with our own soul and renewing it creatively cannot be taken from us by our neighbour. But he can help us by creating better conditions for us. He can help us by giving us suggestions. From this will come that the effect goes from one person to another. When one person meets another with this impulse, he gives him a stimulus. An impulse. It depends on accepting this impulse and making something out of it on our own. It depends on what we give to each other. Giving spiritually. As a gift. That is the future. Creation continues to build on this. It is about the animal kingdom, the plant kingdom, the mineral kingdom, the elemental beings that populate the earth, that make it what it is. Everything is waiting for us to become active. That then the highest spiritual forces can connect with it, in order to let it become reality in nature outside. If we improve something in ourselves spiritually and create new good things and destroy the old, then the world outside will not be perfect tomorrow. Not immediately a spiritualised world because of that. These are only small splinters. It needs support. But we can tackle it.

This is very much the theme of Michael. What was also indicated in the week's verse. We have a power that can give us courage. Michael = develop courage. Courage, but not foolhardiness. One does not have to overestimate oneself. Courage to dare to do things that our ego believes we cannot dare to do. To say in the decisive case, I can do it, I will do it. Not to wait, someone will fix it. We can also see this in the present time, where many impulses have broken out, an almost testing situation, which has made many people fearful, discouraged, it is becoming visible that this is how the adversaries work today, not the great war with the external destruction of the physical world, but today it is happening in such a way that it attacks the souls of people and wounds them there, Therefore we must be very vigilant, the situation must not make us fearful, but courageous, hello adversaries, you are running a storm, you are offering great forces, that is the case now, shortly before the turn of the millennium there was the threefold repetition of the number 666, whenever such a thing is the case, it is a very decisive situation. It is a time when the adversaries storm against the regular spiritual world, against the freedom of the human being, because they clearly feel that a light is awakening in the human being and now is the decisive hour to steal this light with the help of the human being. Or we human beings are strong enough and do not let them rob us of it, but deprive them of this light. The time of challenges is always a time of the greatest opportunities for development. Should we rejoice or tremble? Let us be courageous, mindful of the power that is within us.

Nothing is expected of us that we cannot overcome. The adversaries unfold their power to the extent that human strength grows. They feed on us. When strength flows to us, then they begin to become active. What makes them active is that they sense what spiritual power is now flowing in through us, which we are in the process of making our own, where they sense that they are now ready to bring in stronger forces. It often happens in human development that leaps happen. Leisurely evolution over a long period of time, then a revolution. We are standing in a time that can mean a spiritual revolution, will mean a spiritual revolution, the question is in which direction it will go. If things go well, the world will be turned from head to toe as it should be. For the adversaries have a tendency to talk us into believing that what is wrong is right. We now have the chance to correct a lot of things that have gone wrong, because we have dragged on old impulses for too long without changing them accordingly, but rather making them worse, because we have muddled along and are still doing so, and now, in the face of the concrete wall that stands in front of us, we are all the more likely to step on the full throttle and race towards it - emergency braking! Pull the wheel around in the other direction.

But we can do that. We don't have to crash into the wall. Every man for himself, but all together. Everyone who puts his own house in order contributes to doing the right thing in the great house of the earth. Together does not always mean that you have to act as a big group. It doesn't. Through our I, we are all spiritually connected. Even if we are not consciously aware of it yet. Humanity is one big community. The only thing that can diminish it is if the adversaries succeed in tearing individual MEs out of this community by seducing whole MEs, seducing individual people or many people to join their kingdom and renounce freedom.

That is why R. Steiner's great fundamental work is the Philosophy of Freedom. In truth, everything is in there. Although R. Steiner was not as aware of it at the time of writing as he was later. Otherwise he would not have been able to write the Philosophy of Freedom in this way. The prerequisite was therefore to be able to express himself in philosophical mental consciousness, while keeping strictly to himself what could still grow out of it. Later he could make connections to it, but first he had to keep all that out of it. That is precisely the great thing about Steiner's philosophy of freedom, that it is created, at least while he was writing it, out of the consciousness that we are placed in the world of the adversaries, we are placed in this dark world, and I cannot simply let an inspiration trickle in from above to change that, but I must become aware that I am standing in absolute darkness, that I am blind, and I must kindle my light. Then it brightens up, from the pure spiritual created, mentally about the spiritual world, and in doing so it stops there. Standing there clearly. For that he must fade out everything. He cannot experience imaginations, inspirations, intuitions there. He has to be in the state of philosophical consciousness, which, however, makes the leap to the higher level of living thinking, of experiencing thinking, makes the leap to experience himself in thinking, to come to an observation of thinking, to an observation of his own mental activity.

Then I get a fully conscious experience of my I-power. To become aware of what my I is. In this I observe myself. When I have achieved this, I am only mature enough to enter the spiritual world in a fully conscious way. R. Steiner was clairvoyant at a young age. He could see the spiritual world. He had brought this disposition with him from earlier lives. Nevertheless, there is a great need to acquire this natural ability, the disposition that he brought with him, anew in order to create Anthroposophy. Out of full freedom. That is to say, out of an old clairvoyance, every ability to see the spiritual world which has something to do with what one brings with one from the past, are old powers. One has to acquire them anew. Out of the I. That's where it starts to awaken the powers that are necessary for this out of the I in all the members of the being, but nothing where something could rise up out of the unconscious.

Especially if you look at the karma of the human being, that is, what we take with us from the past, that actually lives in our astral forces, karma is in there, karma is not only negative, what do I have to put right, atone for, karma also has positive tendencies, what we have learned in the last incarnation. In the soul, these are the good prerequisites for spiritual power to unfold better. Nevertheless, in order to enter the spiritual realm in a new way, in a Christian way, in a free way, I have to basically forget everything that I have taken with me from the past and say: "I'll make everything new!" R. Steiner had to do that too, wanted to do it too. Quite consciously. His path of life also led him to the point where he was able to carry it out in this way, so that everything he describes is not gained from old forces, but from completely renewed forces.

Every time he speaks in front of other people, every time he writes for other people, it is newly won. "Even high initiates doubt the reality of the spiritual every day".he said. A strong sentence. They have become so awake in their spirituality, so open, that they are not content with what they already know, they could tell a lot about what they know, what they have already acquired, but it is not the spirituality that they experience at the present moment when speaking, when writing. They have to enter it anew at that moment, always a very fresh approach, so when R. Steiner speaks about one and the same thing in different places, speaks before different people, or writes about it in different essays or books, it always has a slightly different nuance. It has to have that. It must always be acquired anew. In other words, I have to fall out of this spiritual experience completely from time to time, and then the thought can come to me every day, is this spiritual reality? I am honest enough to say that I am not experiencing it at the moment. I have to give myself a jolt to get back into it. I can give myself that jolt. I cannot be content with what I have experienced in the past.

Apart from the fact that one cannot remember spiritual experiences with the normal memory anyway. I have to be able to enter into it at will. With the old clairvoyance it was also often the case that it came over you, with a lot of training you could bring it about more specifically, but people could not yet do it from their own ME. In the ancient initiation ceremonies of the ancient Egyptians up to the Greeks, it was possible to make preparations for the spiritual world to reveal itself, but the gods had to cooperate. The priests also had to cooperate, who had to surround the initiate so that this moment would really be there. Today a person who has progressed far enough on the path can take this step into the spiritual at any moment from freedom. It is like a constant renewal of the initiation process. Because we rise with our I-consciousness into the spiritual world.

Nothing else happens during initiation. Every time a spiritual experience is to come, I have to make this journey again. All the old powers I have for it do not help me. Something can come in in a dream, or something can snowball in everyday life, but you have to be very careful, only what I bring in in waking consciousness because I now have the impulse to do so, and why do I have it? Because I feel in my I that it is my task and that now is the time to carry it out. The I is always in the spiritual realm, so our real I knows what the time has come. The trick is to get this through our little ego-consciousness. Our I says, "Hello NOW!" This is often a brief moment. Spiritual training means nothing other than learning to listen to the impulse of the real I, to become awake enough not to sleep through this impulse we give ourselves. We humans are strange beings. We are much more than we know about ourselves. To walk a spiritual path as indicated by the Apocalypse, it is basically an initiation book, an awakening book, which is to awaken man to an awareness of his own ME. The unveiling of the nature of Jesus Christ is at the same time the unveiling of the nature of our individual self. This should come out in the end. So that we can see what task our I has taken on in this overall work. The Christ is the great humanity-I, we are the microcosmic individual small I, but they are of the same essence. When we come together as a whole as humanity, this Christ-I lives in full size in humanity.

And every human being has access to it. It is part of this that we consolidate it, that we bring something in fully consciously through the I and give it away to other people. That is the great activity that is there. Through this the spiritual source is active, through this it bubbles. A spring that does not bubble is not a spring. A spring must always give itself away. You can do that in every everyday situation. It's about giving away something of my I, i.e. being willing to give myself as I. But it also means giving myself completely to him. But it also means responding to the other person completely; at the same time, it means accepting the other person in the depths of his or her being. With time, you might notice where you come from karmically, what connects me with the person. We are not connected with everyone we meet every day, but with very many people, because we have already had many incarnations on earth. One can assume that we have a quiet karmic connection with the people we meet every day when we go shopping, for example. I have an openness to surrender. I open up my armour. I am ready to open myself for you. As an inner attitude. The willingness is enough not to cloak myself in all the roles and masks that life puts on us (e.g. Mr. General Manager). This can be useful to fulfil a certain task in life, but the role has nothing to do with my real self. It is this ability to open up. This is only beginning very slowly. People who have grasped this, who grasp this Christ impulse within themselves, who see that this power connects with all people. Because Christ lives in everyone. I meet myself in the other. Because I encounter the Christ in me just as much in others. In truth, this is an important step towards awakening.

As we are today, we always acquire consciousness strongly from what is facing us. It is only a question of how: Do we stare at the other person externally? Or do we go beyond that and develop the ability to slip into the other person. To connect with them for a moment. You can practise that. Putting yourself in the other person's shoes. In a conversation, to get completely involved in the other person's point of view, to put aside one's own, to listen, to try to understand within oneself, that is only possible if I am prepared to immerse myself in the other person again and again, to take back what I have unconsciously experienced in my waking consciousness and to register that. To become completely selfless in the experience of the other person. Today we are so strongly trained to defend our point of view. In principle, that is not a bad thing. But it's about finding the right balance. Also this ability to put myself completely in the other person's shoes, while at the same time having the ability to withdraw to my own self. That is a pendulum movement. A breathing process. Breathing me out, breathing me in. At the same time breathing in something of the other. Taking it into me without it forcing me to do anything. I don't have to take over 1 : 1 from the other, but I take it in and transform it. I digest it, make it my own. Then it enriches me and becomes my own ability. It is an impulse that I have received.

If the other person is a higher initiate, then it's probably not a coincidence, then he or she can support us in taking up this impulse. But in principle we can get it from any person. Every person I get involved with in this way gives me a spark by trying to grasp their essence. That awakens me more and more. Basically, we can only mature together. Sitting down in the room and meditating is not always the best way, but you can do it, but then you have to have a large field of people in your consciousness. The best way today is to stand in the middle of the hustle and bustle and simply connect with the people. That is where the spiritual aspiration, the spiritual path of development becomes concrete. It is never about looking at the spiritual world like in the cinema, it is not about satisfying our spiritual curiosity, but that we fulfil a task with it. Basically, we always see what is related to our task. If it is big, we see a lot. If it is small, we see a narrower field, but that can also be very fruitful. It is not a seeing, but at the same time also a doing.

Outwardly physically we can face each other, but by really entering into relationship it is an exchange and there is a connection. By taking the other person into myself, something also happens to the other person, he also gets an impulse through it, there is no other way. You can't face the spiritual world in such a way that you say, "I'll stay as I am!" No. I become more and more myself through this, but the spiritual world has also received an impulse through this. I cannot look at the spiritual world without changing it at the same time. We have to get away from imagining the spiritual experience as a sensual experience. From a purely sensual point of view, we look at the tree, but that doesn't matter at all for the tree. But it is not.

If I have the inner willingness to connect with the tree, then I connect with the spiritual beings that make this tree grow and mature. This has an influence on these spiritual beings and it has an influence on me. The elemental beings that have to do with the tree thereby come into a connection with the human beings and they thereby have the possibility, for example, that when they have fulfilled their task and when the human being who has connected with them dies, then they can be released from their task. I.e. it makes a difference how I look at a tree, a flower, an animal, then I can contribute on the first level to the redemption of the elemental beings who are forced into stone, plants and animals in order to be active, but basically they suffer from this activity. Because they are trapped in something hardened. Especially the elemental beings of the solid, the gnomes, dwarfs, root beings, who are bound into the hardened, they always have such a subterranean suffering, because they are trapped. Trapped and having to work. In human terms. They then have a perspective that they can then ascend with the human being, later on into the spiritual world, then other elemental beings will follow again, nature needs them. But they all have the possibility of being lifted with the human being into a higher sphere, which they cannot reach by themselves. This is possible with every glimpse of nature.

All these are things with which we can strengthen our I-power, strengthen our courage. You notice that. If you try to do this consistently, you notice how your power over yourself increases. This feeling of power over oneself. That is the real power, no one can take it away from you. That is the only power that is justified. We are in a transitional age, we still work very much with the principles as they were in ancient times, namely from a central source a chosen people's leader is inspired, that is still very much in our civilisation. It will take us a while to overcome that. But we should have made it to the next cultural epoch. In the second third of the next cultural epoch, something else should be the reality. Then we as humanity will have done our job well. But we should start, because there is a long way to go.

What is important is in the small things of everyday life to become more aware of this, especially in human encounters, in encounters with animals, plants, minerals, indeed with the sky that you see outside. Small moments again and again. That's where our task begins. As long as it doesn't start there, the spiritual is not really there. But then, when we start, the adversaries are there. The fact that the adversaries are there is a sign that we have begun, that's one way of putting it. That is, we are strengthened enough to implement it in everyday life. You would have to notice a person who is serious about spiritual aspiration, who radiates something that does good. Without being obtrusive. Simply that he is there. The way he walks through the room. The way he looks at other people. Something that comes from deep in the heart, this wanting to connect.

That is the means that pulls the rug out from under the feet of the adversaries. That is the strength in the I that makes it possible that the adversaries cannot seduce us into their kingdom. That's where it starts. You can support it with meditations, but the beginning is how do I do it in life. In the way I deal with other people is the biggest barrier. If I am ready to meet every person in love, i.e. I am ready to give him something of my being without expecting anything in return, but also ready to take in what he gives me consciously or unconsciously, ready to transform it in me. This exchange should become more and more natural. From this, a social community of the future will emerge. For this, it is necessary that this truly free spiritual life develops. A spiritual life that draws directly from the spiritual. In the encounter with people, animals, plants in selected moments, first of all, that this exchange becomes possible. These are the greatest forces that prevent black magic from taking hold.

Of course, there are also great initiates with dark sides. But no human being on earth has yet finally conspired with this adversary realm, so that no reversal would be possible. Even for people who are already deeply involved, hope is possible. Hope is there for everyone. One can only join the kingdom of the adversaries out of freedom. It requires the free decision of man to renounce freedom. It is then the last free decision, but it must fall out of that. Man must want this, to enter the realm of the adversaries, he cannot simply be drawn into it. They can be redeemed and come out with help as long as they have not made the free decision themselves.

That is why this scene in Dante's work is at the Mount of Purification in the earthly paradise, which in Dante's work, however, almost reaches the lunar sphere, that is exactly where the Garden of Eden was, at the top of the Mount of Purification, up there is the paradise, the Garden of Eden, which is spoken of in the second chapter of Genesis, in the airy circumference of the earth, that is where the decision is made. Man, when he dies, passes through the Kamaloka, place of desire, the term came in from Theosophy, which drew much from the Indian, into Anthroposophy, the experience after death, it lasts about a third of earth-life, where we find all the desires that have gone in the wrong direction, In the Kamaloka we have to get rid of them, which is more or less unpleasant or not at all, depending on how strongly one is attached to the desires.

He describes the stages that have to be gone through on this path, he describes it as 7 purification stages, then there is even a preliminary stage, the pre-Purgatory, where I have to make up my mind, now I'm going up the mountain of purification, then you come to the gate where an angel stands, the gate of Peter, this angel then opens it, then the purification begins, the 7 stages correspond to the 7 so-called deadly sins, it begins with pride at the lowest stage, For Dante, arrogance is the most serious offence, he says of himself, yes, I have a lot of purifying to do, he was a very proud man who knew what he was doing in his life, he was proud of that, arrogant to a certain extent, he writes that quite openly in the Divine Comedy, when he finally arrives at the top of the earthly paradise and is allowed to see his adored Beatrice, then she makes a snail out of him. He is hard on himself. It gets easier from step to step. With every step he is able to overcome, a P is erased from his forehead.

When he comes before the first angel who guards the gates of heaven, who then opens the gates of heaven with Peter's two keys, Dante has seven P's engraved on his forehead, Pecata from the Latin, the seven main sins, when he has overcome the first step, the first P is erased, at the second step, the second P is erased, in which he experiences everything there, suffers with the others there, so it is not only about his suffering, but also about suffering with the others, when he has gone through all that, comes the last severe test, after he has gone through the lightest stage of lust, actually they are not sins, they are vices, sin is a momentary transgression that I have committed, that is relatively harmless, but when it becomes a permanent habit, then it becomes very problematic, because then it not only sits in our astral body, but then it has also taken hold of our life forces, everything that becomes habit, Everything that becomes habitual has an influence on our life forces, that is then difficult to work on, that can only be worked on at all if the Christ helps us, it is he who gives us the life force that is necessary to overcome the destructions in our life forces, but we have to cooperate, the last great test is to go through the wall of fire that burns away the last blemish, Dante shudders at it, I won't go through the wall, the Virgil who accompanies him and the Astacius who accompanies him, who accompanies him, they want to encourage him, but no, I won't go through the fire, but only when Virgil says, you fool, Beatrice is waiting behind this wall of fire, then finally he registers, he has to go through it, he goes through the fire, it doesn't harm him at all, on the contrary, he has got rid of this burden, then comes the triumphal procession of the Church, meaning the spiritual Church, of the people who are united in the spirit of Christ, and this triumphal chariot is pulled by Christ himself. Dante depicts it in such a way that the chariot is pulled by a griffin, a hybrid creature, bird-like above, lion-like below, the lion-like changing into a human form, for Dante it is the image for the two natures of Christ, the bird nature for the purely divine-spiritual, the lion-human nature for being fully human, this griffin pulls the chariot, Beatrice on it, the Christian virtues, the cardinal virtues from pre-Christian times accompany him, the 24 elders, all that is there, Dante receives the Beatrice's punishment, he makes himself very small, then he is allowed to enter the earthly paradise, because at first he is still standing outside, there is the river, the riverbank, he stands on a bank and the triumphal procession with the Beatrice and the chariot and the griffin, that's on the other side of the bank, so he's not allowed to cross yet, but when he finally regrets everything and realises for the last time what he's done wrong in his life, then he's allowed to drink from the Laete, the drink of forgetfulness. That is something important. If we have made it to that point, then we must forget all the sins, the transgressions we have made, so that our spiritual consciousness is no longer burdened with them. As Steiner says: "Review without regret".

I can't get into the spiritual realm if I'm constantly whining, oh I was such a bad person. The deed has been done, I can no longer change it, but I must change it now, and concentrate on what I can do better now. Then the triumphal procession starts moving again, Dante is quite fascinated, loses sight of his Beatrice, he was shocked by what happens to the chariot, the griffin, that is, the Christ ties the chariot to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. An important point: i.e. when we bring down the high spiritual, in which we receive it as a human being on earth, then it is bound to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. That is, in concrete terms, we decide whether something evil will come out of it or something good. That is, from the spiritual forces that we have drawn from the spiritual world, whether it becomes something evil or something good, that is up to us. The forces that lead to black magic are exactly the same forces that can lead to the very best works. In terms of power, it is exactly the same, only the attitude with which we use it can be good or evil. We need the knowledge of good and evil, when we do one, is it good or is it evil?

That's where the biggest mistakes often happen. In the history of mankind, what it has brought in the way of blood and spiritually hurled into the realm of the adversary is where people have done something with the highest idealism and the highest conviction, but which was nevertheless wrong. They have used the highest spiritual powers with the wrong motivation. It is not easy to distinguish between the two. In order to achieve the goal, one goes over dead bodies. Therefore, when we ourselves are enthusiastic about something, we have to be very careful not to lead it in the wrong direction. And we lead it in the wrong direction when we take away someone's freedom. If, out of our enthusiasm, we want to force people to their supposed happiness. Even where we proceed suggestively. It must always be the case that we leave people free to decide. We can tirelessly give helpful impulses. That many people take it up out of freedom to do so. It is always on a knife's edge, I can also become the itinerant preacher who is very suggestive. I can also become the itinerant preacher who is very suggestive, who wins over the sheep in such a way that he does not leave them free.

Christ's commandment to go and teach the nations is to be understood in such a way that it must not be done suggestively, and certainly not with coercion. But how did the missionary work in the world go? "If thou wilt not be my brother, I will smite thee in the skull." It becomes even more dangerous when we work spiritually suggestively. That is to say, the first duty for the person who strives spiritually and wants to give something to others is to avoid anything suggestive in the way he speaks, behaves, writes, that he is suggestive, wanting to force. Instead, it is always an invitation, a suggestion. Everything stands and falls with these subtleties.

But Dante also shows clearly that the chariot is now tied to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the tree blossoms at first, but the whole thing does not last long, because then the dragon, the monster, the dragon with the seven heads and the ten horns comes out of the depths of the earth, pierces the chariot, shatters the chariot, everything withers, Dante is shocked, he doesn't realise where Beatrice has gone, the dragon is joined by the eagle, which represents the worldly power of the emperor, the political power, a fox creeps around this chariot, the fox is an image for the cunning of the mind, Dante is referring in particular to the theological thinking of his time. What is theology? When it goes wrong? A tool of argumentation to assert one's own interests. In the development of the church, many decisions were power decisions. One party has asserted itself. Consolidated its power and eliminated the other. This means that there are always impulses that go the wrong way, and with some of the impulses there is a danger of handing oneself over to the realm of the adversary. Church is also made by fallible people, that is the reality. It is normal that this happens. But it is becoming more and more dangerous for the future. One has to become more and more conscious, do I connect any selfish interest when I want "you to do this good", I tell you this, when I have that inside, it is in the direction of the fornication of the spiritual with the adversaries. That is the black magic. That's the image with the whore of Babylon. The image that Dante drastically portrays in the fornication of the Whore of Babylon, who lets the soul of man in with the giant, that is, the assembled adversary forces. So the spiritual fornication that happens there and could spoil the whole development.

In the beginning it can be easily corrected, like when you are travelling on a train and there is a switch, in the beginning it moves very little away from the straight path, but if you wait too long, you come in a completely different direction and go back. Therefore, be careful with the points. Where can you get the train back? There is a well-developed network of rails in the spiritual world where we can always set the points back, but we have to be attentive. It is easy to miss a switch and be completely on the wrong track. The Apocalypse should also help us to become awake to these things. To observe oneself in one's spiritual actions again and again. What does my ego say about it, how much of my ego is stretching upwards? Who is the master? I or me. This is the image of the whore of Babylon.

The 7 bowls of wrath were poured out. After the sixth bowl, the warriors gathered at the site of Armageddon, the site of the decisive battle (666). It is now a question of which direction the development will take, for oneself as an individual and for humanity as a whole. After the battle, a seventh bowl is poured into the atmosphere, then a mighty voice sounds from the throne: "It is done!" We have come this far. What happens now? Now the consequences are described, the consequences of the history of Babylon. Many images in the Apocalypse overlap, even though one can say it is a chronological development. Many of the last chapters already play into the situation. Many things are also happening now. "And the lightnings flashed, and the voices sounded, and the thunders rolled, and there was a great earthquake, such as there had never been before as long as men have lived upon the earth, such a mighty earthquake was it, and the great city fell asunder."The number of three always has something to do with the soul, e.g. the three soul forces thinking, feeling, wanting, these three soul forces have to separate completely when one enters the spiritual world, but they have to be held together by the I, the I decides about it, but not my feeling, tells me that I would prefer this truth, so the truth is guided by my feelings, then I don't have the right feeling for truth, I first have to see the truth and be able to feel it, but not according to my egoistic desires.

It's the same with my will, there shouldn't just be some desire going through and that determines my feeling, and thinking also directs it at the same time, we have that very strongly in mind thinking, the mind is a tool to get the ego its standing in the world, to assert itself in the world, At first it was by warlike means, also with the Romans, then in court, using the logic of the Latin language to get my point of view accepted in court, which my ego wants to have for itself, whether it is beneficial for the rest of the world, it was very little about that. Today it is a matter of the I having its powers in hand, looking at its feeling, its thinking, its wanting and combining that out of freedom, that is to be observed in every new spiritual path, that the soul powers separate and are completely under the dominion of the I. The only power we should have is that of the ego. The only power we are to have is the power over our own being, over ourselves, that includes our soulish, that includes at some time in the future the life forces and finally also the physical, i.e. our spiritual will power is to guide all these forces. It begins with the soul. That is to say, I can notice that a situation exists which perhaps justifies anger in the will and in the feeling, but I can at the same time objectively judge from my I to what extent this is justified and what action I would like to take. So it must not prevent this upsurge of righteous anger either, and make a clear judgement about it and say out of freedom what will happen now. R. Steiner says that when children develop righteous anger, when they see an injustice, they become angry and let it out 1 : 1, that is the prerequisite for developing gentleness in old age. To see an injustice in old age and to settle it with great gentleness, where the person's charisma causes the opponents to face each other, to become calmer, to let off steam and to be able to talk about it. To develop such a charisma as a human being is already a great task. It means walking a spiritual path in reality. When a person, by being there, has a beneficial effect on the environment without imagining anything about it.

When "cities sink into ruins", it is not a question of external catastrophes, they are images of inner spiritual experiences. "And Babylon the Great appeared before the thought of the Godhead, that the cup of the wine of the divine will should be offered to her as a cup of wrath. ..."

Excessive is certainly the pain for those who resist becoming active out of their free will, and excessive is the pity at the time of the people who want to give themselves away and see their gifts being rejected and people refusing their help. But you must not force them to accept the help. These will be great spiritual struggles.

By Dr. Wolfgang Peter Here you will find useful summaries, transcripts, keywords, etc. If you would like to help to make this documentation even richer, please contact info@anthro.world.
