Most people are familiar with the negative aspects of today's politics and government: Corruption, nepotism, bureaucracy, detachment from the will of the people, etc.

Is it even possible to reform what is now understood as "politics", which covers pretty much the entire state system?

We think so: Yes! Rudolf Steiner's thought impulses on the social tripartition give us guidelines for understanding modern society and how to work towards solving the problems. (It is therefore a "MUST" because fundamental forces or processes are at work in society, according to which we adjust state institutions - otherwise it leads to ever new crises).

There are provisional Ideas for reform. We hope that they will stimulate discussion:

1. the future parliamentarians decide exclusively on basic regulations and laws for which no special or expert knowledge is required.

2. they are drawn at random from the eligible portion of the population. Acceptance is voluntary.

3. the drawing of lots makes elections unnecessary. The term of office is limited to 4 years.

4. the laws only contain content that affects all people. The application to the concrete individual case is the responsibility of the courts.

5. the courts are independent of both parliament and business. The judges come from professions of intellectual life, they are appointed by organisations that also belong to intellectual life for a period of five to ten years and return to their actual professions at the end of this period. They are assisted by legally trained officials in an advisory capacity. The appointment of these officials is also made by an organisation of intellectual life.

From among the appointed judges, a defendant citizen may choose the judge of his or her confidence.

The introduction to understanding

We have also prepared an introduction to the above reform proposals, which is intended to prepare the reader for understanding the proposals made. So, actually, you should read the following introduction first!

The 1st area: Legal life
The state provides the legal framework for both intellectual life and economic life and ensures that it is implemented. The content of all regulations, laws, ordinances, etc. is limited to the relationships between people. These regulations affect at least two, but potentially all persons. The guiding principle is the equality of all people. All other areas remain independent and free from state intervention. Matters concerning individual needs, preferences and abilities do not belong in this area.

The 2nd area: Spiritual life
All areas of spiritual life are based on the individual freedom of the individual and are to be excluded from politics. This concerns scientific, technological, religious and cultural content. The state may not act as owner or financier in free intellectual life. Such investments or assets shall be transferred to appropriate, independent institutions.

The 3rd area: economic life
Economic life is characterised by cooperation in the production of goods and services. In the exchange of goods and services, reciprocity emerges as an essential characteristic. Whoever provides a lot can get a lot of (reciprocal) service. The foundations of economic activity are not only labour and intelligence (i.e. the skills of those doing the work), but above all natural resources. Legal life can determine framework conditions for economic life (working hours, holidays, dealing with capital, interest and the natural resources, etc.), but it must not act as buyer, owner or producer. It is not allowed to set prices or guide consumer behaviour.

How could one - or rather: how would one have to - reform politics in order to bring about a recovery?
